Heidi: Government Kurt has a principle of transparency

Industry, Intervention and Trade Minister Roseta Hajdari has reported to the Commission for Economics, Industry, Undertaking and Trade for the Bill on the Book of Gaining Owners, Online Economics reports.

Hajdari said there is this bill aimed at creating, functioning, managing the registry of beneficiary owners, determining the obligations of the physical persons, and forced subjects recording information of beneficial importance in the registry, and determining punitive measures in case of non-compliance of the provisions of this law.

“The draft law on the registry of beneficiary owners is aimed at creating, functioning, managing the registry of beneficiary owners, determining the obligations of physical persons, and subject forced to record profitable information in the registry, and determining punitive measures in case of non-respecting the provisions of this law. Through the establishment of the beneficiary owner's registry, an increase in transparency of beneficial importance will be achieved, as will the identification of beneficiary owners in order to discourage legal persons and future legal agreements aimed at concealing individual identity and carrying out illegal activities in Kosovo”.

The adoption of this bill would enable regulating an extremely important field in a single legal instrument. This would not only facilitate the work of law enforcement agencies, forced subjects for punishment, but also regulate access to adequate information on the beneficiary owners of businesses and other legal subjects. Through the adoption of this draft law on the registry of beneficiary owners, the Republic of Kosovo would join the group of states that implement high standards for transparency of profit ownership and fighting economic crimes”.

LDK MP Valentina Bulnjaku has asked about NGOs concerning this bill. According to her, this law is in conflict with existing law.

“Can't NGOs that are non-profit organisations to get into commercial society, because Article 3 speaks of NGOs while there is an NGO law, it turns out NGOs are not beneficial... Now we can go back to the EU, because you want to control everything this looks like, but the problem is that you're going against existing” law, said Bunjak.

Minister Hajdari said this government Kurti has a principle of transparency, EO reports.

“The government Kurti with the principles of transparency and accountability is also dedicated to implementing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, which guarantees more transpossion of directives providing transparency and accountability for good governance in the Republic of Kosovo”, she said.
