Beden warns Netanyah that Israel is losing global support

The president of the United States of America, Joe Biden, said on Tuesday that Israel is losing global support due to the careless shelling of the Gaza Belt and urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to change its Government.

Biden's words highlight a new clash in his relations with the Israeli leader.

Those words, which led donors to the election campaign for the 2014 presidential elections, are the worst Beden has ever addressed Netanyah for the way the Israeli leader is leading his country's Gaza war.

They are the opposite of the firm political support that Biden had made to the Israeli leader in the days following the attack of the Palestinian radical group Hamas, south of Israel on 7 October.

“Israel can rely on the United States for its own safety, but there is now more than just the United States. It has the European Union, it has Europe, it has most of the world ... but they [Israel] are losing that support because of the careless bombings they are carrying out”, Biden said.

The Israeli Army has killed over 18,000 Palestinians in Gaza during revenge bombings against Hamas' attacks, according to the Ministry of Health on Palestinian territory, while injuring more than 50,000 and causing a humanitarian crisis.

Beden's comments opened a new window in his private conversations with Netanyah, with which there has been serious disagreement over decades.

Beden implied that the Israeli leader had told him during a private conversation that “was widely bombed by Germany, you dropped the atom bomb, many civilians died”.

Biden said he said he said he said this: “Yes, so all these institutions were founded after World War II to see that such a thing never happened again... don't make the same mistakes that we made after 9/11. There was no reason why we were going to war in Afghanistan”.

He made these comments on the eve of his national security adviser Jake Sullivan's visit to Israel, where he will talk to the Israeli war cabinet.

Netanyahu said Tuesday earlier that Israel received the full US “support for the Gaza Land invasion and that Washington blocked the international “try to stop the war”.

However, he added that “has disagreements about what would happen after Hamas [ex1>'s departure] and that he hopes agreement will be reached on the issue as well.

Palestinian State
Biden specifically mentioned the far right Israeli politician Itamar Ben-Grav, who is minister of Israel's National Security.

He said that “this is the most conservative government in the history of Israel”.

He [Natanyah] has to change this government. The government in Israel is making things very difficult”, Biden said.

Beden said that eventually Israel “cannot say no” the establishment of a Palestinian state which is opposed by Israeli extreme right politicians.

We have an opportunity to start uniting the region... and they still want to do it. But, we have to make sure that Bebe [Natanyah] understands that he has to make some decisions to reinforce him... you can't say that there can be no Palestinian state... this is going to be the most difficult part”, he added.

Netanyahu said Tuesday, as well, that he would not allow Israel to repeat Oslo”'s mistake, peace agreements from the 1990s when the Palestinian Authority was established as part of talks on establishing a Palestinian state in the West Coast, Gaza and the East of Jerusalem. / REL
