European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the September 24th attack on Zvecan Banjska was a terrible event.
These comments, she made in Tirana during the media conference together with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Von der Leyen and Scholz were asked if EU institutions would take steps against Serbia and its president, Aleksandar Vuciq, following this terrorist attack.
We strongly condemn the September 24th terrible attack. Currently, we are in the process of gathering facts about that attack, and according to that investigation, we will decide on the next steps, in close co-operation with member states”, she said, Klankosova.tv reported.
Meanwhile, the German Chancellor said he condemned them as the EU, and as Germany, all violent activities in northern Kosovo.
We really condemn the attack on police and all activities we saw in Kosovo, attacking institutions and people. There are things we don't accept, and it is clear that the EU, member states and Germany, are clear at this point”, Scholz said.
Speaking of the September 24th case in Banjska, he said that “we have been looking for very intensive investigation and we expect everyone to participate in this and support this investigation that is being conducted by Kosovo institutions”.
It is vital that Serbian authorities co-operate with Kosovo at this point, which I think is very good if this would happen”, Chancellor Olaf Schelz said.
