Currently, KFOR numbers 4700 troops from 27 NATO member states, with 200 of them arriving in recent days from Great Britain. Germany and Romania are the other states that have warned they will send additional troops to Kosovo.
Sarec said that the Western Balkans are very important for Slovenia, so the decision to increase Slovenian troops in the Republic of Kosovo has been made.
We know that in the last term, the past government reduced its presence in Kosovo, we have now increased it again, and are increasing it and the government's decision to raise up to 100 soldiers. Slovenian soldiers are there above all as the peacekeeping force and of course the Western Balkans is Slovenia's priority, and for that reason we are also increasing the presence there”, Sarec said.
In the early 24 September, men in military clothing attacked Kosovo police, where Sergeant Africa Bulnjak was killed. The event has been described as aggression and terrorist by authorities in Kosovo, which is behind Serbia.
