Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has said she is awaiting the Constitutional Court's decision in Pristina to officially request international arrest warrants against terrorist Milan Radojicic. As soon as such a decision is made, she has said the ministry she heads will act without delay.
In a proposal for Online Economy, Haxhiu has said that Kosovo is determined to ask Serbia for the handover of Radojicicqi, although he sees this quite challenging because Serbia's “has conducted the terrorist attack”.
It has also requested international partners' help to investigate Serbian military bases where the attackers have been trained, while confirming that local institutions are doing their best to identify the attackers and try them in Kosovo.
Since the terrorist attack, Kosovo institutions, in this case, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police, Prosecutor and Courts are working to clear the case. Minister of Internal Affairs and Police Director, for the sake of transparency, have held conferences, where in detail they have explained how the attack took place and where terrorists occurred. As for the trial, it certainly has not begun yet. However, precautions have been taken to treat terrorists. Some of them are now in custody for attacking constitutional order and other terrorist acts”.
The large group of attackers, as she said, has also tried to influence local Serbs, but they have not joined.
The Justice Ministry is obliged to address the tribunal's demands in other institutions. In this case, when it comes to international petition, we are expecting the Court to apply for international petition, and immediately without delay we will act in accordance with the competencies we have. There will be maximum efforts for all attackers to identify, because there has been a large armed group that has tried to extend its influence to other Serbs as well. Fortunately, local Serbs have not joined”.
On the other hand, she has said Serbia will make efforts to handle cases itself to accommodate criminals. But, she has expressed conviction that such “allegations will not be docked”.
Local legislation and international conventions envision the judgment against terrorist Radojicic to take place in the Republic of Kosovo because the attack has occurred on its territory. A few days ago, we saw a raid on terrorist Radojicic's property, and there will also be seizures of his crime-generating property. There is no responsibility for Serbia to investigate the attack that took place in Kosovo. In fact, our international partners should help us in an international investigation into those military bases where terrorists are trained, in Serbia, about”.
Even for war crimes, even for this terrorist attack, there will be efforts of Serbia to take cases there, as if they appear to be doing investigations and to house criminals. We are determined to seek the handover of criminal Radojicic to Kosovo, to then proceed with judgment. I understand it's challenging because Serbia itself has conducted this terrorist attack and it's not just taken place with one individual, as terrorist lawyer Radojicicic was trying to say, but it's Serbia after this” attack.
We are making maximum efforts to bring criminals to Kosovo. He has a determination. Such crimes will not be adopted, such crimes will receive the institutional answer based on legislation in power”, Haxhiu has said of EO.
