Police-searched surgeon in Serbia, employed at private hospital in Kosovo

The surgeon Izet Tutic from Novi Pazar was arrested in 2018 for taking bribes in six cases of patients. The Supreme Court in Kraleva had sentenced him to one year and eight months in prison in 2021, writes APUDanas, broadcasting Schneta newspaper.

According to the Serbian newspaper, Tutic was even forbidden to work as a surgeon over a period of two years. The court ruling in Kraleva was confirmed by Apel in Kragujevc.

Against this Tutic court ruling, he had staged a protest, acknowledging that he took a bribe saying there was a “gift from the heart”, but had called himself the sacrifice Serbian authorities wanted to “indicated in Europe that everything works in Serbia”.

Tutic had later sought to delay the implementation of the prison sentence sentence with the excuse for health problems. After four postponements, the court had refused its fifth request in September 2022.

Following that refusal, the court had issued orders to police to bring Tutic to serve the sentence, but the surgeon had already come to Kosovo where, according to the Serbian newspaper, it is impossible to be persecuted by the authorities of Serbia.

The paper has asked Tutic for clarification through social networks, but he has not answered questions.

Meanwhile, at the Ministry of Health, they have shown that Tutic was originally licensed in the Special Association “Zatriqi” in Pristina from October 4th, 2022 to December 31st, 2022. Meanwhile, on November 9th this decision was abolished after Tutic was employed at the private General Hospital “United Hospital”. There have been licenses at this institution until November 30th, 2022.

According to Administrative Guide No. (QRK) NR. 10/2022 For the licensing of foreign health professionals, Article 10 has specifically set the criteria for licensing foreign health professionals and the Board based on these criteria licensed foreign health professionals.

“Tutic, we inform you that according to the Supreme UA, the foreign health professional in the case of license from the Board, no evidence is required that he is not convicted, but only valid permission of”, said in the response of the MSH.

Meanwhile, “United Hospital” has not provided clarifications to written questions. Representatives of this hospital have told Gazeta that Tutic has secured continued permission to stay in Kosovo and is in the procedure to be licensed again by the MSH. /Gazzeta Shneta/
