Thousands of fans gathered outside Iraq's national football stadium in the southern town of Basra on Thursday, hours before the finale of the cup began.
Large crowds had gathered since morning, hoping to watch the rare international domestic match between Iraq and visitors Oman.
“There has been a death and dozens of minor injuries,” said a doctor. An interior ministry official gave the same figure.
The Iraqi news agency said some of the 60 people who were injured outside the international Basra stadium are in critical condition.
