The 38-year-old is starting to take a step back this season, giving him the title position at the Serie A at Andre Onana after the eighth lap.
Handanovic's last appearance for Inter came to their 2-1 loss to Rome on October 1st, but he is still a valuable part of the dressing room, being a prominent team leader.
As explained by Interi, tests conducted today confirmed that Handanovic has undergone a muscle strain on the left lep, excluding him from the upcoming confronting of the Nerazzurovees in the Italian Cup with Parma. The doorman will undergo a new round of tests in the coming days.
Handanovic's contract with Interin expires in June, and it is still unclear whether they will offer him another one-year agreement or not. The Slovenian veteran has been with the club since July 2012, and has made 447 presentations in all competitions.
