Bill Gates For the next 20 Years

Bill Gates spends a lot of his time talking about global existential threats, such as climate change or future pandemics that can affect the world. However, Microsoft's cofounder is very optimistic when talking about humanity's future. Given the challenges young generations may face, Gates [...]
Considering the challenges young generations may face, Gates believes that anyone born within the next two decades will live better than those born in previous years.
In an interview at the Loway Institute in Australia, Gates said: “I am still very optimistic and I think it would be much better to be born in the next 20, 40 or 60 years than at any other time from the past”.
Pandemia COVID-19, which put the world in a bind, the failures of governments to meet the stated goals of addressing climate change or conflict in Ukraine, which indirectly affects the rest of the planet, make Bill Gates think the best times have not yet come. But not everyone feels the same way. A Gallup U.S. survey found that only 42% of Americans believe that young people today will have a better standard of living than their parents.
One of the main reasons Gates believes that people will live better in the future are the advances that have been made in public health, where mortality rates under the age of 5 have decreased and technological advances that not only bring us closer to our loved ones even when we are miles away but also allow workers to have a greater expansion worldwide.
There are fewer and fewer illiterate people in the world and “there are many tools to promote our innovation”, said Gates, who underlined that living conditions have already improved. / A2 CNN
