The multibillion - dollar loss comes after Musk, 51, became the second person to amass more than $200 billion after Amazon founder Jeff Bezo.
Musk, whose net value peaked in November 2021 to $340 billion, has seen his fortune drop to $137m after Tesla's shares dropped 65% last year.
