The prime minister's office reports that Kurti has been accompanied by Finance, Labour and Transfers Minister Iron Murati, where “stays in Japan will also hold other official meetings”.
Japan's former prime minister, Shinzo Abe, died after being attacked by firearms in July this year at an event in the town of Nara.
Abe, 67, was giving an election speech when he was shot with two bullets.
The suspected attacker was arrested at the scene.
