According to media in question, Ishmael “ElMay” Zambada, known as El Mayo, is a close ally of Albanian brothers in the War, Arben, Fatos and Ramiz Hysa. “El Universal” says Albanians launder cocaine money at a wide network of casinos in Mexico and Albania.

Ishmael Zambada is among the most wanted people from the United States, and the FBI offers up to $15m for any information leading to his capture. Since 2000, El Mayo has been among the most wanted for international drug trafficking.
The media say the transfer of money from crime and drug trafficking to Balkan countries and primarily Albania because they have weak economies and the law is not implemented. But “El Universal” says that despite this, the four Hysa brothers are targeting “of the authorities. “El Mayo” had established connections with the War Brothers Arben, Fatos and Ramiz Hysa, an Albanian criminal group that has been targeted by financial authorities for irregular economic activity recorded in the tourism and casino sectors in Mexico as in Albania”, the article says.
According to intelligence sources consulted by “El Universal”, four Albanians own a network of casinos and businesses in Sonora, Baja California and Quintana Roo, in which they clean millions of dollars from organised crime. In addition, they invest large sums of money in Albania to clean them up, in investments focused on the activities of lucky games and in the field of tourism.
Ishmael “ElMay” Zambada has also historically worked closely with Cartel Juárez and the Carrilo Fuentes family, preserving independent ties with Colombian cocaine suppliers, writes Online Reporter.net.
Zambada has been wanted by the Albanian Attorney General's Office since 1998, when he issued the $2.8m reward for it and five other leaders of the Juárez cartel.
“El Mayo” also led the Sinaloa cartel in partnership with Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán until 2016 when El Chapo was captured.
Zambada is now estimated to have taken full command of the Sinaloa cartel. Zambada is likely the “bossi” most stable and powerful drug in Mexico. He is believed to have performed plastic surgery and has disguised himself to move around Mexico.
