Details From Visit to Kosovo, Three European Diplomats Set Out Toward Belgrade

After the meeting, which lasted over two hours, European mediator in the dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said they had deep and important discussions with Prime Minister Kurti to advance this process.
But Lajcak has said he cannot give more details.
We discussed with Prime Minister Kurti about dialogue and ways to bring new dynamics and move this process forward. It was deep and important discussions, but we can't give more details”, Lajcak said briefly in front of the media.
Few details from the meeting also provided the Government of Kosovo.
The prime minister's office in a media communiqué said that at the meeting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said the Republic of Kosovo has shown its will and willingness to engage in a principled and well prepared dialogue.
It says Kurti reiterated that the purpose of the dialogue, which should benefit the citizens of both countries, should be reaching a legally binding agreement with mutual recognition at the centre.
During the meeting, talk of the need for even stronger efforts by all actors so that the European perspective becomes a reality for the Western Balkan states.
After staying in Kosovo, Lajcak and two European advisers will visit Belgrade, where they will meet with Serbia's president, Vucic.
From the German government this week stated that the purpose of this visit would be to see what are possible options in advancing normalisation of relations in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
At the weekend two letters were made public by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and French President Emmanuel Macron, in which they appealed to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, for the quickest normalisation of relations between the two countries.
In these separate letters, French President Emmanuel Macron and the German federal Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, announced that they tasked their foreign policy and security advisers to provide special EU equipment support for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak.
The European mediator in the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, along with US Balkan envoy Gabriel Escobar, remained in Kosovo and Serbia even in late August.
