The White House will not appoint a special emissary for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
The White House official told Pavlovic Today on Monday that President Biden has “two confirmed ambassadors in the region who are actively working on the issue in close co-operation with the EU”.
This response comes from the White House following the request that former US family President Richard Greenell, who last week called on Joe Biden of “to accelerate” and appoint a presidential envoy for Serbia and Kosovo.
Whatever we need now is “muscle diplomacy, Grenelli said.
There are many individuals within the foreign policy community who have that gravity, who have the ability to enter the Oval Office, which Joe Biden appreciates. Those people should raise their hands and volunteer”.
Grenelli has said he is concerned that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti “rejected all ideas of the EU and US” and asked President Biden to send the American leadership, which he said is so necessary to the Balkans.
On Tuesday morning in Belgrade, US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
According to State Department spokesman Ned Price, the emissary for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar will travel in the coming days to Belgrade and Pristina “to show our high level of interest and engagement on this matter”.
But, Price has also said that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken does not hesitate to be included personally in the Kosovo dialogue- Serbia if it finds it necessary
