Again: ZRE does not rule out rising electricity prices

After the meeting the AAK parliamentary group, with the board of the Energy Regulatory Office, was said to currently have stable power supplies, but whenever there is increased import of electricity, costs must be reflected. That was rejected by Ramush Haradinaj's party, as they stressed the need for institutional preparations to cope with the energy crisis.

ZRE board chairman Ymer Zejnullahu said the criteria for extraordinary tariff review have not been ruled out in the future.

This was rejected by AAK parliamentary group chief Besnik Tahiri, who said that he told ZRE as well.

We have rejected any power price hikes as a parliamentary group. Kosovo's citizen no longer has the chance to face an energy surge. What we've been informed of is that planning with these tariffs and subsidies coming from the government, which is not yet dissburusar, therefore, these tariffs stay and there's not to be an increase in the price of energy... we were offered precise information of the ratio between import and export. But it also gives us arguments that the situation can be difficult, but our demand is very simple, there should not be price hikes, since the citizen cannot face”, he said.

While the other AAK deputy, Beka Berisha, called for preparation of institutions to cope with the energy crisis.

The chairman and ZRE cannot assure us there will be no price hikes. As trends and in Europe, there are examples of mobilization. In countries like Germany and Western states prepared with alternative forms of heating, this should also be a sign for us to prepare for price hikes and find alternative forms for heating and all”, he added.

Asked by journalists, the chairman of the ZRE board also spoke of implementing the roadmap for the agreement in the north, which he said its second point is not yet being implemented by Elektroserver.
