Unemployment, higher prices, corruption main problems in Kosovo, according to US Institute survey

According to results published by the survey on the Western Balkans for 2022 under the US Institute “Institute International Republic” (IRI), economic issues continue to be Kosovo's main problems. In the three main problems listed by the IRI Institute survey, unemployment (46%) is the main problem, followed by the cost of living/high prices (24%) and corruption (.8%).
In this survey according to the responses of Kosovo citizens, the problem is also the pandemic of coronavirus (2%), electricity (2%), poverty or access to credit (2%).

While uncertainty, delinquency or lack of health insurance is seen as a problem by 1% of residents who have responded to the survey.
Survey methodology
The survey was conducted within the centre of the Institute “Center for Insights in Survey Research” by Ipsos Stergic Marketing, from December 30th to February 20th.
The data has been collected with the method of interviewing citizens in their homes.

Also included in the survey are all areas (urban/rural) and all ethnic groups.
In Kosovo 1520 residences have been interviewed, and the margin of error may be up to 2.9 percent.

“The International Republican Republic” is an unprofitable American institute that is committed to advancing freedom and democracy in the world by helping political actors, political parties and others involved in government deal with more substial issues.
The institute also deals with more young people's involvement in politics and offers assistance especially to marginalised groups in various countries.
The institute was formed in 1982 with the initiative of then American President Ronald Reagan, until the year 2018, the head of the institute was John McCain. He was replaced by US Senator Dan Sullivan.
