Amber Heard's legal team has filed a motion to reject the court's ruling, which ruled in favour of her former husband, Johnny Depp. Lawyers representing 36-year-old actress filed the plea, arguing that the decision that she had slandered Depp was not supported by evidence.
In a 43-page memorandum, she argues that the decision and compensation of the $10 million owed to Depp should be rejected by the reasoning that during the trial, he continued to slander her statements were actually false.
After the court ruled in favour of actor Depp, Amber stated that ““The disappointment I feel today is beyond what I can describe in words. I feel broken that the mount of evidence was not enough to withstand the power and influence of my ex-husband.
I am even more disappointed about what this decision means to other women. I believe Johnny's lawyers managed to force the jury to bypass the key issue of Freedom of Word and ignore evidence that was so convincing that we won in the United Kingdom.
I'm sorry I lost this case. But I am even more sad that I seem to have lost the right that I thought I was American, to speak freely and openly”, she said. /abcnews. al
