Operating at temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius, firemen accepted close to 2,600 emergency calls and responded to more than 1,000 cases of fire, the president of London told Sky News.
“On a normal day fire service receives as many as 350 calls and on the most loaded days of up to 500 calls”, he added.
Of the firemen who suffered damage to “connected due to heat”, 2 of them were hospitalised, said Jonathan Smith, a spokesman from LFB.
He added that even though the weather is fresher now, the earth still remains absolutely dry, and he urged that people do not camp in parks and throw no glass in places where it can cause fires if faced by sunlight. /Periscopi/
