The country's Prime Minister Albin Kurti has declined to comment on the recent statements coming from the Serbian government about the Association of Serbian municipalities, writes Periscopi.
He said he does not comment on Serbian officials' statements, arguing that it reduces the government's time.
I don't find it very healthy for democracy and freedom if we constantly quote the promotional statements coming from Belgrade. They say for every hour, if I'm going to follow every high-five, and I'm going to answer each of them by comment, then they reduce my government's time”, Kurti said.
For association of Serb majority municipalities, the constitutional court and citizens' petition and on the other side of my office, there is no letter of any Kosovo Serb citizen who says Zabto association, every week receives letters from them, but neither says”, Kurti concludes.
We remember that the director of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government, Petar Petkovovic, said on July 30th that representatives of Serbs living in northern Kosovo will begin forming the Association of Serb-run municipalities.
During a media conference in Serbia, he said this would be the answer if Kosovo authorities do not give up their intention as of August 1st to start implementing decisions on license plates and Serbian IDs.
There is nothing to expect. If they can behave as they please, then it is normal for Serbs to start creating association. Ten years have passed and they must secure their rights”, Petkov said. / P ERISCOPIA
