Former Health Minister Andmend Zemaj said that if in the short term there is no intervention in improving conditions for health professionals, Kosovo would face a lack of doctors.
According to Zemaj, the waiting list is already a disturbing phenomenon of receiving services precisely because of the managerial inefficiency of Minister Rifat Latifaj and Government.
The non-dignified treatment and non-recognition of the professional work of doctors taking place in this government is of great responsibility and it is clear that if they continue to be offended, their departure is inevitable. There are a year and a half and more attacked in various ways without any legal protection from the health ministry and no progress in this direction”.
“in a short term if there is no intervention in improving conditions and the assessment of their work Kosovo will face lack of doctors. The waiting list is already a disturbing phenomenon of receiving services at university clinics and regional hospitals precisely because of this ministry's managerial inefficiency and this government”.
“Operatements per month do not work. To make the term, it seems that the end of 1923 is now in line at QKUK. We're in front of a health collapse”, Zemaj said.
Infectologist Shemsedin Dresaj has shown that there is a shortage of nurses and medicines from the essential list because the budget has been reduced to the Ministry of Health, stressing that it is about mismanagement.
According to him, 120 doctors a year graduate from the Medical School, since 200 doctors left last year alone.
He adds that this trend of escape, given the large number of those who will retire, is not an indication of the prospect, reports EO.
It is true that there is a shortage of nurses and drugs from the essential list because even the budget is cut short at the Ministry of Health. At the moment, the information coming from regional hospitals is that they are not satisfied with filling the essential list in relation to demands”.
“The production capacity of the Medical Faculty is about 120 doctors per year, while the export capacity last year for 12 months was 200 doctors. If such a trend goes on and we don't forget we're a significant new number before pensions. The prospect is not good. I think this is about mismanagement and non-employment”, Dreshey said. / EO
