Bosnian Prosecutor Co-operated with Europol, US and France for the arrest of Elvis Kelmendi

Members of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Special Police Unit have handed Elvis Kelmendi and two others: Anel Seyfovik and Aljin Ahmadi, arrested during the major police operation that took place Wednesday in Sarajevo. Three other detainees: Slobodan Tomanic, Hakk Babaq, Amer Pethliq and Armin Kulasevicq were released. [...]

The detention measure has been requested against Kelmendi and the other two. As reported in the noted Bosnian newspaper Dnevni Avaz, this is seen as necessary measures as there are activities of international co-operation that the Bosnian Prosecutor will develop with the structures of Europol, the US and France, to get all documentation and evidence on this complex organised crime issue, the newspaper Express submits.

Under the evidence collected, in which significant international co-operation was achieved, the suspects acted as an organised criminal group, with separate roles and tasks, which smuggled and sold large quantities of narcotics to the illegal drug market in Sarajevo and other cities for a long period of”, say the Bosnia and Herzegovina Prosecutor.

The prosecutor's task officer will question those arrested and then the decision on the proposed measures will be made.

Also, within the framework of the authorities' commitment, money movement acquired with illegal activities is being investigated, as well as the forms of corrupt activities of Kelmendi and others.

In Kosovo, Elvis Kelmendi is wanted last year. Kosovo police had made an effort to HINAline in October 2021 to track him down, seeking citizens' help.

Businessman from Peja, Naser Kelmendi, put blacklisted by the U.S. in 2012, along with his sons, continued to stir up justice organs in the region and beyond. He has long turned his family into a criminal group known primarily for drug trafficking and organised crime.
