Long-awaited Ukrainian grain deal signed

Ukraine and Russia have signed the UN-brokered agreement to allow the export of wheat blocked in Black Sea ports -- agreements that could avoid a terrible global food crisis, writes The Guardian, Pryskopi. The general secretary [...] was also present at the signing ceremony in Istanbul.
The signing ceremony in Istanbul attended UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Turkish President Recep Erdogn, who has had a key role during negotiations that have lasted for months.
Guterres said the agreement would enable the export of wheat from Ukraine and that the United Nations will work to ensure this process.
UN officials said the first shipments could begin as early as Saturday. /Periscopi/.
