Since 1800, there has been a garden where vegetables are planted. The second president of the United States, John Adams, and the first lady Abigail Adams, had grown fruits and vegetables to feed their family instead of buying products on the local market.
After President Adams planted the first garden, then former presidents living and living in the White House continued to plant their own gardens.
The Obama family planted a garden of 10,000 square metres, on the southern lawn of the White House on March 20, 2009.
Some 55 kinds of vegetables and fruit were planted there for food for the Obama family and the guests.
Adults included rucola, coriander, tomatoes, hot peppers, onions, spinach, green cabbage, berries, watermelons, and lettuce, etc.
This garden is responsible for the First Lady and host of the White House, as well as a team of cooks and some students from a school in Washington.
Currently, the White House Garden is guarded by First Lady Jill Biden. It too has various vegetables, where even in 2021 it had sent vegetables to President Barack Obama's wife, Michelle. / Metro
