The number of unregistered vehicles in Kosovo falls to 5%

Hysen Durmishi, deputy minister of the Ministry of Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure, said the measures that have been taken by Kosovo institutions are evidence of commitment to reverse the Green Carton issue.
For the time we're in the government, we've taken the question of the Green Carton seriously. We as a state are not part of the UN, and that causes us problems. We have discussed the modalities for setting stickers as measures and criteria for reducing non-compliance vehicles in Kosovo. The measures we've taken with the deployment of stickers that have zero euros for citizens have had an effect of”, he said, RTKlive reported.
According to him, with the stick-in put in place, the number of unregistered vehicles has immediately begun to decline and without insurance in the country.
Durmish also intended for changing the automotive law, which, according to him, could occur this year.
And the executive director of the Kosovo Security Bureau (BKS) Sami Mazrek said unregistered and unsured cars are the challenge not only for Kosovo, but other countries as well.
The “Actions that have been taken in the past 15 months have had an effect. We said there were over 200,000 unregistered cars in Kosovo. We have made memorandums for stickers with the CEC and the Ministry of Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure, he said.
He has also mentioned agreements they made with the bureaus of the countries of the region. According to him, the fashionmites are being seen to have solutions for the Green Carton.
Mazreku suggested July 28th 2022 in Brussels are invited together with Governor Fehmi Mehmeti to discuss Green Carton and that the solution may be offered by a friendly state.

Blerim Camaj, deputy chief executive of the Civil Regiment Agency ( ARC), suggested that from the start over 69,000 stickers have been placed in Kosovo's vehicles.
“Automnets registered in Kosovo are 408.219, while unregistered are 20960 or 5% total. This figure has resulted from stickers and other measures taken, Camaj said.
