The former Ukrainian prime minister's interview: The possibility of the world killing Putin, he's a demon of dark logic.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko described it as “abolally rational, cold, harsh, black devil” Vladimir Putin and claimed he was set to enter Russian history by Stalin and Peter the Great”. In an exclusive interview, Tymoshenko denied suggestions that the Russian president is “mad”. “It operates on the logic of [...]
In an exclusive interview, Tymoshenko denied suggestions that the Russian president is “the mad”. “He acts according to his dark logic”, she says. “It is guided by this idea of the historic mission and it wants to build an empire. That's his highest purpose. This purpose comes from his inner desire and belief”.
Tymunenko, leader of the 2004 Orange Revolution and prime minister for two mandates, has had several eye-to-eye meetings with Putin. They had been holding negotiations in 2009 after Putin, that former world prime minister, had halted gas supplies to Ukraine. Tymshenko had been competing for presidents in 2010, 2014 and 2019, finishing twice and once in third place.
Closest up, Putin was the always disorderly “in what he said and was always suspicious that he was being trapped, she says. It comes from KGB school”, it underlines. Before the full Russian invasion in February, he did not hide his belief that he does not have “a nation like Ukraine, nor do people like Ukrainian”, she says.
Its ambitions were beyond the invasion of Ukrainian territory and the collapse of pro-Western government and pro-pro - NATO, she suggests. Its geopolitical goal was to capture Belarus, Georgia and Moldova and control of central and eastern Europe, including the Baltic states, as Moscow had done in the Soviet period, she said.
Tymoshenko was in Kiev on February 24th when Russia launched an early - hour attack. She says political rivalry for peace of time disappeared immediately. She had gone to the presidential administration that morning along with other top opposition figures and met with Voldymyr Zelesnky, against whom she had competed in 2019.
We hugged each other. Everyone was shocked, pale and scared. None of us planned to leave Kiev”, she says. “Everyone knew we'd stay till the end. We agreed to support our president and our army and to work for victory”. Zelensky's decision to stay in the capital for “overcoming the pledges” was important, she said.
As Russian bombs fell, Tymoshenko had taken refugees to the base of the modern building belonging to her political party Batkivschyna in Kiev, which was hit several times by rockets. Asked if she would be willing to shoot Russian soldiers, she says: “Yes. I have legal weapons. The Kremlin has put me on the murder list according to sources. We were prepared”.
The Russian government had always considered him an enemy, Tymoshenko says. It points to its support for Ukraine's EU and NATO membership. In the presidential election, she competed against Victor Yanukovych, who was supported by Moscow. For her loss she blamed then-President Viktor Yushchenko, once ally of the Orange Revolution.
In the following year, Yanukovych imprisoned Timoshenkon in a case of politically motivated width. “Putin and Yanukovych imprisoned me. Yanukovysh was never an independent player. He was always Putin's puppy”, she says. She was released from prison in 2014 when Yanukovych left Moscow after anti-corruption protests. Weeks later, Putin annexed the Crimean and launched a separatist increase east of Ukraine.
Tymoshenko spoke from her office decorated with Ukrainian flag and photographs showing her with Western leaders, including elderly Margaret Thattcher. It praised the incredible “ ” of “anti-Putin” and placed special emphasis on the United Kingdom and Boris Johnson, as well as the United States, Canada and Poland. “We see Britain as a part of a vast Ukrainian family”, she says.
Last weekend, French President Emmanuel Macron said it is important to not humiliate Putin” a sentence that was interpreted as an understanding that Ukraine should sacrifice its territory in exchange for a realpolitical agreement with Moscow. Tymoshenko said France and Germany -- criticised for slowly sending weapons -- should not be expelled as Europe faces its worst security crisis in decades.
But she said that Ukraine's international partners should understand that the only way to end this war is to destroy Russian forces on the battlefield. Not to mention anyone, she said they shouldn't be co-operating with devil”. It adds: “There is no peace agreement with Putin because it does not lead to peace. It would lead to new war several years later”
What she was fighting for was existential to her country, she says. The object of the Kremlin is “depersonification” Ukraine, stripped its language and culture and left it weakened and “crushed”. The civilian world has had a unique opportunity to stop Russia and to be unable to distribute its “fighting, corruption, blackmail, dezinformation and captivity”, she said.
Russia has since left the claim that it is targeting Ukraine's military infrastructure, Tymoshenko said. The killing of civilians in cities in the Kiev region, such as Buka and Irpin, as well as in other areas -- was heavy and deliberate, said no, with Russian soldiers following Moscow's instructions.
The “is an integral part of the genocide against the Ukrainian nation”, she said. “What happened in Marioupol is even heavier than in Butch, Irpin and Hostomel. I am convinced that we will be able to bring Marioupolis back and reveal the degree of horrible murders there. It was a tragedy, a human catastrophe of an unconventional measure”.
Considering her words, veteran politician concludes: “This is a major battle for our territory and our freedom. It's a historic opportunity for the free world to kill this evil”
