SASK threatens government with general strike

The United Education, Science and Culture Union (SBASHK), after its recent meeting with the government has given the executive deadline that if in 15 days it fails to meet their demands on the Law of the Salaries, it will go on a general strike. So said the head of SBASK, Nundman, Radio Kosovo [...]
SBASK Chairman Nundman Jasharaj told Radio Kosovo that the last opportunity for dialogue with Government is the official legal mediator they committed. He has announced that the legal mediator has already sent a letter to the Government to insist on dialogue. The mediator's commitment to talks with the government also envisions the Law on Strikes, says Jasharaj:
Kosovo's “Union of Independent Unions has selected an official legal mediator with the aim of sending the prime minister's cabinet papers to enable dialogue and as parties to sit at the union table and the government in an effort to make solutions to our demands”, Jasharaj told Radio Kosova.
Jasharaj, further said the mediator has sent the letter to the prime minister's cabinet, and by that date are 15 days long term, that the government will be declared but either against dialogue.
If the government says no to the mediator, it means she's not interested in dialogue and we're going to come into a very bad situation. Then we start with union action, while radical action in this case would be a general strike. May the government say yes to our commitment and to sit down together and find solutions”, Jasharaj said.
He then said that after the deadline they have given to the government, together with the BKP, they will be co-ordinated for the next steps and what to do next. There are thoughts that the Union should be prepared for a general strike, but all depends on how the Government will behave against the Law of Strikes, which requires mediation.
