Putin will be presented at the International Economic Forum in St Petersburg, which usually welcomes world leaders and business figures, but for specific purposes this year there will be much less foreign guests.
Instead of presenting itself to more prestigious media, Putin will appear before Russian media and war correspondents.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “the accuracy of information from Western journalists is a question for us”.
