Kosovo Police Union Chairman Imer Zeqiri has said they will be present in this protest to represent the rights of the Kosovo Police as well.
“We have also participated in the organisation of protests by the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo as the union's executive chief to represent both the requirements and the rights of the Kosovo Police. Also, we as union leaders will support this protest and be present as executive union chief because the KEK union requirements are also our” demands, he told EO.
Zeqiri said police will not be involved in this protest, but only the leadership of the union, while adding that they are in dialogue with the country's Government and are awaiting an answer to their demands.
He said that if the government offers negative answers then they are forced to take to the streets to express their dissatisfactions.
“We will be like executive chief, but Kosovo police have not yet organised protest, we have not yet received the protest with the Kosovo police because we have not yet spent all of the dialogue, as we are in dialogue with the Government, but our demands like the Police Unions, we have not yet received definite answers that these protests will not be realised, and we do not want the Government to give back negative answers to the demands of the Kosovo Police Union to force us also to organise a protest and protest with police is completely on the hands of the police without or without the police on the way. We as union leaders will be part of the protest, representing the Kosovo Police as well, will be there to support workers' rights in general. If our doors are actually closed by the government and we get negative answers, definitely it depends on the government whether or not the police are on the street, Zeqiri said.
