Uk Lushi after visiting The Hague: Our men need our support

Rare are the visits of persons outside the family circle -- to Thaci, Veselin, Selim and Krasniqi -- to the Specialised Chambers in The Hague, where they are being held in custody. Moreover, even those who visit them do not say much. It's because of the strict court rules that prohibit the carrying of information from outside and vice versa. However, Specialised Chambers do not limit the giving of thoughts that may have different people for the overall process. One of those who has visited former KLA leaders is Albanian-American Uk Lushi, former member of the Euro-Atlantic battalion “”, now activist, graduate economist at New York University and author published by the book “KLA Albanian Chronicles of Atlantic Battalion” In a brief interview for RTKlive, he relates his visit to The Hague.
RTKlive: Why did you decide to visit KLA members, currently in custody by the Special Court?
Uk Lushi: Because the court is committing serious human rights violations and has begun to flee much of the mandate it has given it and must control the legitimacy and legitimacy of the Kosovo Assembly. Delays and procedural barriers and uneven treatment of the prosecution and defence were another important reason.
RTKlive: From your point of view, do you describe us (as far as you can), the atmosphere within the detention center?
Uk Lushi: Prison environments are never good. The detainees are in solitary confinement, and their only opportunity to communicate was to communicate. However, the proximity and harmony among the detainees were very impressive. In health most were good. All were morally strong and confident that they were making a new contribution to Kosovo and Albanians. Their concerns were with unreasonable delays with prolonged procedures that violate law and human rights.
RTKlive: You were once quite critical of Thaci, the Wessel of others. Have you changed your opinion?
Uk Lushi: I was critical about matters, not personalities. I am both critical and supportive toward every politician and leader. It's a civic and intellectual duty to participate in the public record, but to support our representative. Our men at The Hague now need our support because Kosovo and our people's interest are at stake.
RTKlive: It has been warned that Mr. Konjufca, chairman of the Assembly, will visit Thaci and others. How do you describe this action of his?
Uk Lushi: I count it a fair deed and an obligation. There are two chief officers at The Hague, Mr. Wessel and Mr. Krasniqi. Prime Minister Konjufca is acting responsible. I hope that after Konjufca sees firsthand the problems of the Court, and especially the Special Prosecutor in The Hague, he and Parliament will come out with a resolution where they will clearly seek from the Court not to forget that it is Kosovo and must answer only to Kosovo.
