Kosovo and Serbia, with the European Union's mediation, have agreed yesterday to implement the energy agreement signed in 2013 and confirmed even in 2015. This paves the way for the billing of electricity in four Serb-populated northern municipalities. From the position camp, they say they expect the deal to begin implementing for 100 days, while the opposition says the Vetevendosje Movement had rejected the deal.
The head of the Vetevendosje Movement Parliamentary Group, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, said that already citizens living in northern municipalities will pay for the spent flow, respecting Kosovo laws and the signed agreement.
I believe that there are other mechanisms of implementation of the agreement, and it's also the third time since 2013 and 2015, in 2022 we already have a difference of seven years during which there has been in Kosovo's electro-energenetic system but that there is already no other way out besides implementing it. They're accurate and clearly defined both the deadlines and the obligations of each side and I want to believe that in a month's time, and then after 45 days, 100 days, as envisioned in the agreement, we'll have results of implementing it, the four municipalities in the north are part of the Republic of Kosovo with no reality and no other solution, so even if Serbs living there should live in a functional state, they should immediately become part of the implementation of this” declared Kusari Lila for Kosova Pris.
Serbian officials' statements that the same agreement paves the way for the Association of Serb majority municipalities, Kusari-Lila, has said that no such statements should be dropped.
Even some should not fall prey to continued manipulations on the part of Serbia, including the previous Vuciki declaration, and now Petkoviki's, for reasons that this agreement, or its implementation, is the return of normality to the north after a total of 23 years of lack of fattification or accountability and, of course, monetary compensation for the spent”, Kusari-Lila said.
MP Ferat Shala from the PDK has declared for Kosovo that these agreements should be implemented rather than remain on paper, until it has accused Vetevendosje Movement of rejecting all agreements with Serbia during the time it was in office.
“Today we have a new ruling version of the big delay in understanding the implementation of international agreements, today we have a real reflection of the government's inability to understand the previously launched national development processes, so in all this agreement, and in all these years past this very government that is in power today and once in opposition, has reproached them, deigned them, deigned the agreements and deeds that have been lynching to the highest extent possible in the human sense, both political and political, national, and current implementation for all those that are signed by international partners... Everything is defined, and it has been since 2013, we need to implement the laws and state actions in that section”, Shala said.
MP Paul Lekaj from the AAK ranks thinks that this agreement under the guide will not be implemented, since Serbia has never respected these.
I am skeptical that they will be implemented according to the guides that have compiled and signed, I say that because we know from the Elektroseverer, even though it has been the agreement that he applies in terms of the distribution of electricity, he has applied for tax collection or power prices, bills and distribution, so that he has broken the deal only to win in time, that years have not paid the citizens of northern Kosovo, so with a closing word we dare not be deceived by the Government of Serbia because he has never been serious and has not complied with the agreements or the agreements of these rebels. We have 33 agreements, but until today none of them have been implemented” said Lekaj.
Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister at the same time, Kosovo's chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi and Serbian delegation chief Petar Petkoviq reached the agreement on implementing the electricity deal in the north during yesterday's morning in Brussels.
