Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has requested the support of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for the country's integration into the European Union, suggesting that EU candidate status application will be made at the end of this year.
“in line with European promises and perspectives are working on meeting EU membership reforms. We will continue with our EU candidate status aspirations, where we plan to apply at the end of this year”, Kurti said at a news conference after meeting with Chancellor Scholz in Pristina on Friday.
Kurti during the conference has thanked Chancellor Scholz for Germany's continued support of Kosovo, while adding that Kosovo will continue to be a loyal ally of this state.
“Germania has played an extraordinary role in rebuilding Kosovo. Chancellor Scholz assured me that Kosovo is and will remain Germany's reliable partner”, Kurti added.
