Oil and gasoline prices have reached record levels these days, and the government is expected to make soon an intervention, which would be brutal for oilmen.
The Ministry of Industry, Intervention and Trade has announced yesterday that it is working on the new decision to regulate oil prices that will replace “consumers and competition under law”.
Oilmen are gathered today to discuss this situation. They are considering the possibility of closing the derivative points in protest following the government's warned decision.
According to a draft of this decision, which the Economic Bulletin reported, restrictions are laid on oil profits from what current oil and gasoline prices are expected to fall for 12 cents.
Oil Association Chairman Fadil Berjan said yesterday in Frontal of T7 that the price hike on the stock market has made oil and gasoline expensive in Kosovo.
The decision, which the Government is expected to make, is named as oilbreakers. Behrani said that fuel companies are working at losses even currently, but the government made the decision not to give up more than 6%.
“Please. You have to understand that we don't produce oil derivatives. Prices come from the BERZA and OPEC stock exchanges. The supply price is 1.75 per litre of diesel, which means we're working on losing profit margins. We respected the decision. It has been a fatal mistake to decide where most companies are towards bankruptcy”, he said.
Beryn asked the Government to remove the excise on derivatives, rather than make the decision that was warned, which according to him defines a brand “that destroys companies”.

According to the government's draft decision, 2 dross to 3 cents will be determined to earn one litre of oil for retailers in large numbers, while 6-10 cents for retail vendors.
Meanwhile, 10 cents is expected to determine profit per retail sale for non-initiated subjects.
