The longtime Kosovo family had taken the path of radicalisation through jihadist online propaganda and were trained to carry out terrorist attacks. According to Italian media they had planned an explosive vehicle attack in Italy, on behalf of the terrorist organisation I SIS.
They have been put under investigation by Italian justice for the purpose of terrorism or overthrowing democratic order, recruiting and training for terrorist purposes, including international ones.
The man and woman were detained on June 15th after the order issued by the Trent prosecution, while the court decided on June 18th on the house arrest measure. Even wearing an electronic bracelet was imposed on the husband.
The security measure decision, according to the Carabinieri, has been determined by the need for Italian justice authorities to ensure the etroding of the two suspects and his family.
According to investigators, the two suspects after conducting the attack in Italy would flee to Africa to join the terrorist organisation “Islamic State”. Computer equipment and chemical products, explosive equipment manufacturing, were seized during the operation, which were taken into investigation.
