Blood flow diseases remain among the main causes of the death of Albanian citizens. According to INSTAT's data for 2021, the heart - related group of heart disease and Fridays occupy 52.4 %s of total deaths. They estimate they're losing their lives because of these problems 568.6 people per 100,000. Concern is the fact that compared to a year ago, this disease group has seen an increase of 10.8 %.
But there is an increase in the mortality rate from respiratory diseases by nearly 1.5 times. In the long run, the loss of life because of tumoral disease.
The rise in mortality during 2021, experts say, has also been influenced by the consequences of the overall population health, and a factor in this is increasing the number of deaths from respiratory disease.
During the pandemic, many seriously ill citizens avoided treatment because of fear of burdening their health.
In a circuit assessment, Gjirokastra registers the highest death toll to 100,000 people, and the main cause has tumors, while the lowest is registered in Kukes County. Shkodra district marks highest mortality value for group “Blood circulation disease” while the Durres circuit marks the lowest value.
During 2021 they lost their lives:
16 883 males.
13 624 women.
