In some locations near buildings, houses, or other locations in Mitrovica, inscriptions are seen in the middle of the country.

Leutrim Arifi, resident of the neighbourhood “Moran Hajra” in Mitrovica, has indicated that citizens have earlier thrown debris among neighborhood streets.

But, he added, one of the neighborhood residents has put a letter on the market fence with the inscription “

There was a container in front of here, and people fired trash. Then they took the container off and sent it to the stadium, and people went on to shoot the shit again. However, an unknown man has put on a letter for God's sake, don't shoot shit, and people are no longer shooting shit. Not known, he's an unknown man, but he made a unique gesture, and it seems that citizens are aware of”, Arifi said.

Aslan Fazliu, a resident of one of the buildings on the “Jalal Mitrovica”, says that there has been a year that one of the residents has placed a plaque on the wall with similar content, which has had a positive effect.

According to him, this does not mean that it should continue with putting such tablets in the neighborhood, but the awareness of the citizens should rise and not lay waste where they should not.

A year ago, the action of a citizen that I don't know who it is, who wrote it on the wall, concrete it down, and looking for residents who saw the great God don't throw trash in this neighborhood. This must have had a positive impact, but that doesn't mean that we should continue with putting such plates around the city... We need to form civic obedience and be cultured not to actually throw trash where it is not defined by city rules”, Fazliu stressed.

Even Fidan Terzici, a resident of one of the buildings in this neighborhood, has acknowledged that such an inscription has made the inhabitants aware.

“Yes, I believe, there has been a awareness of residents and citizens who pass through this section, and now much less are throwing garbage... there's been a lot of garbage, especially in front of the flats they've dumped, and even passersby have thrown waste, but now it's different from”, he said.

On the other hand, Ylber Murtezaj, U.d. Deputy Executive Chief of the Regional Waste Company “Unity” in Mitrovica, argued that in some parts of the city, with the initiative of citizens themselves, inscriptions have been placed with calls for not to drop waste, which have succeeded.

There are several inscriptions in some parts of the city, some of which we have placed where waste disposal is prohibited, and some have put citizens at their own initiative, and this has succeeded”, Murtezaj explained to Kosovas.
