Experts: Arctic freeze for a period of three to six months, for oil alone.

The Government of Kosovo's warning of making a decision regulating oil prices on the local market is seen as misintervention by economists. According to them, Kosovo is a democratic country oriented towards the market economy, where such interventions can not be made by the state. To get out of this situation [...]
Economist Safet Gerjaliu said freezing the excise should take place over a period of three to six months.
He said this methodology used by states like: Germany, Croatia and Montenegro, has yielded positive effects. So he added that Kosovo should follow such examples.
The solution to get out of this situation is just one: to rise the excise in import, for three or six months, not to be completely removed, but only to get up. Germany has used this methodology. It has been used by Croatia and Montenegro. Why not use it? The freezing of the excise is the best solution, because citizens pay 36 cents cheaper oil than now”, Gerjaliu said of Telegrafi.
He further added that the situation in Kosovo is getting worse and that a real public-private dialogue is missing.
As a result, we have a state of frustration. You shouldn't waste time. The government boasts increased revenues in the budget, and this is happening because of price hikes. Therefore, it is a time for caution because prices are unaffordable”, Gerjaliu said.
I'm afraid we'll have closed businesses and transport paralyzed. Kosovo is a democratic state, and the market economy is dominoing, and in the latter, such government dictatorship”.
That there must have been freezing or releasing the excise, the other expert on economic issues, Mustaf Kadriaj, thinks.
He for Telegrafi said the government “should appeal to itself” because it should not load businesses.
The Ministry of Industry, Intervention and Trade (MINT) announced on Wednesday that it is working to make a new decision regulating oil prices in the market. The new oil law envisions that the government issues a sublawn act to regulate oil prices and other safeguards.
According to media reports, the new law envisions restrictions on oil profits.
Linked to this economist Kadriaj said that “this is typical leftist intervention as in the governments of the former communist bloc”.
“Businesses are right because they have to decide the profit margin based on import. In this situation, the only hand that needs to be moved is the Government, helping oilmen get releases in excises or VAT. This is in order to overcome this” crisis.
The government is behaving as if it were the only one on the planet, but it should be remembered that Kosovo has once and for all been oriented towards the market economy and there is no way that this kind of state intervention”, he said.
Neither has the Kosovo Oil Association, which after a meeting held Thursday, agreed to the executive letter by which they have requested approval of the two requirements.
They have sought to continue with the free market economy the same as 22 years before and in accordance with the Kosovo Constitution. But if this is not taken into account, they have said that margins should be set: sale in larges 3 percent, while retail 12 percent.
If these requests are not taken into account by the Government, then they have warned that they will take measures, including closing the derivative points throughout the country.
