Dutch Eurodeput, Tineke Strick, has expressed disappointment over why today there was no starting point for visa liberalisation for Kosovo at the EU Summit.
Through a Twitter post, Strick has congratulated Ukraine and Moldova, which received candidate status for the EU, but has said this should be the moment when negotiations with northern Macedonia and Albania begin, as well as be granted visa liberalisation to Kosovo.
She has also said that the Western Balkans would have to get closer to the EU.
“Congratulations on the citizens of Ukraine and Moldova. But this moment should be the start of negotiations with Northern Macedonia and Albania, visa liberalisation for Kosovo and a concrete perspective for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Citizens of the Western Balkans deserve to approach”, it has written.
Congratulations for the quotes of Ukraine and Moldova. But this moment should have been the kick off of the negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania, visa liberalisation for Kosovo, and a comprehensive agreement for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The WB Citizens deserve to come closer. https://t.co/hGmZdnOIE
