In an interview for the Anadolu Agency agency, Djukanovic said this is his personal, but also Montenegro's, that Russia had undertaken brutal aggression against its neighbour and an independent and sovereign European state.
According to him, the Western Balkans are an inspiring area for Russia for further realising its destructive doctrine to Europe.
The “First of all, because we still don't have a strong enough state in the Western Balkans and the population in that region has historically pro-rus-based feelings. Russia is now playing with that very clever and very irresponsible feeling”, Djukanovic said.
He said all this could last until a more reasonable east-west relationship is established and the dialogue between Europe and Russia renewed.
Of course, some preconditions are needed for this, which Russia, above all, must meet in Ukraine. The aggression and deaths of people in Ukraine should be halted and normal neighbourly relations between the two countries should be restored,” said Djukanovic, writes Kosovo.
