The newspaper Bild quoted an investigator who reportedly said that “was not an accident at all, but it's about someone furious, a cold-blooded killer”.
But the city's interior minister, Iris Spurger, denied the existence of any confessional letter. Instead, she said that several patrols were discovered in the vehicle.
The event in question has arrested a 29-year-old with dual German-Armenian citizenship by police. Berlin Police spokesman Martin Dams said earlier that it is not clear whether the incident was an accident or the driver had deliberately crashed into the crowd.
A silver Renault Clio ran into a crowd of people near Breitscheidplatz in Berlin leaving 1 dead and 8 injured. According to the German media, the event took place about 10:26 a.m., and the car was fast at the time of the accident.
The driver who tried to escape was first stopped by passersby yesterday, then arrested by police. /abcnews.al/
