Badoci drops water, calls for savings

The level of water in artificial lakes in Batlava and Badoc has dropped markedly, while during the summer months, if there is no atmospheric rainfall, more is expected to fall. From the Pristina Aqua call for water savings, while for citizens who have not paid water, more than 800 persons have been sent to the owner. Only in [...]
In Badoc alone, water levels have dropped to 7 meters, from maximum. And this level is expected to deepen further by the high temperatures of the coming months. This situation is disturbing for residents of the Pristina region.
“The town of Gracanica and the village area of Hajvali, Veternik the Matti area until the peak of the town of Pristina are areas that are infected by 100% of Badovci, and these may be affected by reductions. We will do our best for the capital's inhabitants not to enter reductions in particular, but if water is not saved normally that there will be shortages, and especially at the high points”, Sokol Xhafa U.d head of the water pipeline {Pristina) told RTK.
As a result of debts more than 1,000 euros, the Pristina regional water pipeline this year has sent more than 860 materials to the private owner. While representatives of the Regulatory Water Services Authority say 123 consumers have complained during this year.
“Mainly consumer complaints have to do with countering debts, countering billing, not reading water sources, luck without being illegal, etc. So their complaints are more financial than in technical”, Hajrie Morina, director of the Water Regulatory Authority, stressed.
Besides climate drying, there is also water shortages due to consumer misuse. Ecologist Eczagona Shala says that as a state, Kosovo does not have enough water, so even institutions should create water storage mechanisms. Citizens, on the other hand, must earn the expression of rain harvesting.
We have water misuse from citizens and from individual businesses. Especially is a large number from industry and autolaration. Then the ransom is not fair. There are also some very simple devices that we can put in our homes and gather the water from the rain so we can use it for irrigation and cleaning”, Eczagon Shala.
For residents of Pristina, there are still no reduction plans, while water shortages are facing several villages of Lipjan, Entrance and Podujevo.
