The decision will be formalised at the Madrid Summit this week, where 30 coalition member states will participate.
“We will transform NATO's reactive force and increase the number of high alert forces to over 300,000”, Stoltenberg said.
Secretary - General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, also confirmed that the alliance would expand the transfer of troops to NATO countries extending close to Russia.
NATO's reaction force currently has 400,000 soldiers, sailors and air personnel.
The name is also expected to be changed to the Allied Response Force, according to Sky News. /Periscopi/
