Although Agatha is a small tropical storm, the prognosticators expect the storm to become stronger in a hurricane as it returns toward the Mexican coast early in the week.
Within six hours of the appointment of the Tropical One-E Depression by the National Urangan Center late Friday, the tropical storm Agatha was formed early Saturday morning amid a group of rains and storms in the eastern Pacific.
Prescients say the system will remain in a favourable environment for continued strengthening until it moves to land in Mexico. From Sunday night, Agatha is projected to achieve the power of the Hurricane Kategoria 1 (the maximum stable of 74-95 mph).
Sea surface temperatures in the area are more than enough for continued strengthening, and as of Saturday, ocean water in this part of the Pacific Ocean was about 86 degrees Fahrenheit [86 ° Fahrenheit]. At the minimum, a sea surface temperature of 79-80 F is necessary for the formation and maintenance of tropical systems. It will also contribute to the strengthening of the storm.
