Even after more than two years of pandemic appearance, the damage to social and economic life is affecting global developments. This impact is certainly present in Kosovo, so has Ilir Tolaj in an interview for Online Economy.
According to infected Tolaj, there are many reasons why health professionals unilaterally raise concerns about the long - term consequences of COVID-19, so it says that they should also be analysed in many ways.
This could cause damage to the central nervous system by making the brain older for more than ten years. The long-term consequences must be analysed in many ways. These are the consequences that a COVID-19 pandemic has lasted for nearly three years. The health system in efforts to transform and eventually now become normal, which is extremely difficult. Kosovo's health system has certainly faced enormous problems, so these problems have deepened even further. In terms of the long-term consequences on patients with COVID-19, there are some of the issues that need to be analysed”, Tolaj said.
He has yet said that even after the period of COVID-19, the consequences will remain both physical and psychological.
Studies are now first showing that even after COVID-19 is passed, many complaints will be present for a very long time with the sick who have gone through a serious form of disease or on an average. It's about psychology issues and organic problems. It is possible to cause a breakdown in the cognitive capabilities of the central nervous system that age the brain for more than 10 years. All of this will have a price of its own in general public health. While countries such as Kosovo will surely have problems with these consequences, taking into account both financial and human resources to confront and address these consequences”, Tolaj said.
