Russia has banned natural gas exports to Finland.
This was made known through a statement by Finnish state energy firm Gasum.
“It is very unfortunate that natural gas supplies under our supply contract will now be stopped,” said Gasum CEO Mika Wiljanen, writes CNN
He said further that the company was prepared for such a situation and there would be no disruptions in its gas supply network in the coming months.
“Gasum will return gas supplies from other sources to serve its” fuel stations, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Russian state media TASS confirmed the ban on Russian gas exports to Finland, with the reason for “moft”, thus causing Gazprom to cut off supplies.
Gazprom continues to ask European countries to pay Russian gas with rubles, while the Finnish company Gasum has dismissed it and warned arbitration of Gazprom.
We remember that Finland officially announced its intention to join NATO on Sunday, giving up the neutrality of several decades and ignoring Russian threats of possible revenge in an effort to strengthen its security after the war began in Ukraine.
