Szunyog wrote on Twitter that it would confirm Kosovo's commitment to rule of law as an EU guiding principle.
The Kosovo Constitutional Court's ruling, which confirmed ownership of the contested land of the Decani monastery, has spent six years. I call on Kosovo institutions to quickly and fully implement the decision and reaffirm their commitment to rule of law as an EU guiding principle”, Szunyog wrote.
The five QUINT countries in Kosovo, consisting of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States, in a statement issued today, have called on the Government of Kosovo to start implementing the Constitutional decision on ownership of the Decani Monastery.
Full statement:
In May 2016, Kosovo's Constitutional Court confirmed ownership of the Decani Monastery on several hectares of land. Despite this legitimate decision and subsequent requirements, the Court's decision has yet to be carried out.
Law enforcement and respect for the judiciary's independence are the obligation of all democratic elected governments. Also, they are preconditions for Kosovo's democratic consolidation and its integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions.
The chiefs of missions of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States of America are united in supporting them for Kosovo's democratic and European future. Therefore, again we call on the Kosovo government to act, in accordance with the Constitutional Court's decision, on full implementation of the legal census of the Decani Monastery./Periscopi
