On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, police through a Facebook post expressed support for the media and journalists, wishing them to continue working in an incompatible way.
Kosovo's “Police as one of the most trusted and transparent institutions given the role and importance of media and journalists in general in providing important information to the public, supporting and co-operating closely with them in the interest of correct, correct and professional information”.
Recognising the challenges and difficulties facing journalists and the media in carrying out their tasks, Kosovo Police on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, express support for them and wish that the media and journalists continue to carry out their work uninhibited and professionally in the interest of citizens and country”, it is said in the police post.
As the law enforcement agency, police said that “are committed to providing security and co-operation with the media and journalists in order to create a better and safer environment in the outworking of their duties and responsibilities to society and the country”.
“The free expression and keeping the opinion informed about events and developments in one country, which is realised through the media, is vital to a free and democratic society, so the KK will continue to co-operate strongly with media in the further cultivating and advancing of press freedom”, said the PK post.
