The Special Court has also accepted the applications of 12 people who will be submitted as victims in the trial process against former President Hashim Thaci, former Prime Ministers Kadri Veselin and Jakup Krasniqi, as well as former President Rexhep Selimi.
These persons claim to be victims of Thaci and others in crimes claimed by the prosecution, which eventually included the specialised Prosecutor's Office in the new amended indictment, delivered to court in late April.
“Victime 21/06 is the direct victim of persecution, imprisonment/alal, arrest and arbitrary ban, other inhumane acts, cruel treatment and torture, allegedly committed in [the] REDOX1> This is how one of the individuals presented is described.
Three others are described as victims, but there are always parts that the court has hidden.
“Victims 44/06, 45/06, 46/06 and 47/06 are indirect victims of persecution and imprisonment/or illegal or arbitrary arrest, allegedly by [the] REDAKUED] against a close member of the family”, Judge Nicolas Guillou's third decision to attend the victims is reported.
Another person is described as a family member of a person who, in his changed act, claims to have been banned and treated inhuman ways. The person presented is named as <x0-viktitis direct and indirect”.
“Victation 54/06 is a direct and indirect victim of illegal detention or arrest and arbitrary detention, other inhumane acts, cruel treatment, torture and murder, allegedly committed in [the] REDAKUED] against him and a close family member who is mentioned as a victim in the amended Aktakuza”, the decision says.
Five persons who have been submitted as victims of Thaci and others are described as “indirect victims”.
“Victims 55/06, 56/06 and 57/06 are indirect victims of imprisonment/ arrest and illegal or arbitrary arrest, other inhumane acts, cruel treatment, torture, murder and, in the case of victim 56/06, also forced extinction, allegedly committed in [the] REDOCTED] and in [ REDAKUED], against close family members who are mentioned in the amended Act and victims 58/06 and 59/06 are indirect victims of persecution, imprisonment or arrest, and illegal or arbitrary detention, other inhumane acts, cruel treatment and torture, allegedly committed in [the] REDAKUED] against a close family member”, it is said in the decision to present victims.
The document published by the Court also describes the damage reportedly suffered by victims.
“Victime 21/06 has suffered physical injury (pange), mental injury (memory loss, panic attacks and anxiety) and material damage, as a direct result of its alleged detention and mistreatment”, the document says.
“Victims 44/06, 45/06, 46/06, 47/06, 53/06, 55/06, 56/06, 57/06 and 58/06
has suffered mental damage (mental trauma, emotional loss
Pain, depression, fear, anxiety, stress and insomnia)”, is now stated in Guillo's decision.
One person is said to have suffered serious injuries.
“Victime 54/06 has suffered physical injuries (heavy wounds, broken ribs, physical pain and headache), and mental damage (trauma, stress, fear and sleep problems)”, the document says in part.
These individuals submitted as victims have been recommended that their identity not be revealed to the public, the accused, and the lawyers.
Kadri Wessel's defense has rejected this recommendation.
The Prosecutor's Office, specialised in late April, has handed over to the Special Court a new, amended indictment against former President Hashim Thaci, former head of parliaments Kadri Veselin and Jakup Krasniqi, as well as former Self-Depute Movement Rexhep Selimi.
In the new indictment, prosecutor Jack Smith has included several alleged crimes in Suhareka and Gjilan, which former political and military leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army are charged with. /GazetaExpress
