Mej: Within the year, 600 new soldiers, buying weapons continues to be a priority.

Defence Minister Armend Mehaj has said 600 new soldiers will join the KSF within this year.

Through a Facebook post, Meheha talked about weapons.

“Brend this year we will open the contract for 600 new soldiers, we will further increase our defence capacities. Besides, obtaining weapons continues to remain our top priority”, he wrote.

The minister says the Kosovo Army “is the guarantee for lasting peace and stability”.

When we first decided to announce the largest military contest we ever had, everyone was skeptical: you can't, you don't have the capacity, you don't get it.

The results today show reality. For 11 months we recruited 1240 soldiers.

With work and dedication, there's nothing impossible. In defense and in the service of the Republic, there is nothing that can stop us.

Within this year, we will open the recruit for 600 new soldiers, boost our defence capacities further. In addition, buying weapons continues to remain our top priority.

Our army is the security of the country and our citizens, it is the guarantee for lasting peace and stability.
