But, now, as he was the first in line on the list of those not elected, following the withdrawal of the two winners, the country in parliament was released for Korab Rashi.
It should be stressed that, by winning this seat in parliament, Koreb becomes Bern's first Albanian cantonal parliamentary and, without question, the first Albanian politician in all of Switzerland to be elected at any level, by the SVP/ UDC.
Also, Korab Rashit is one of very few Albanian politicians who have been elected to cantonal levels so far, so this is a remarkable success.
Here is what the medium jib.ch in French about the case. The elected members of the Biel City Council, Luca Francescutto and Patrick Widmer have given up this political mandate. After a long suspension, the seat belongs to a French - speaking candidate.
So it ended a sage within the Biel/Been City's SVP: The country on the Great Council (Cantonal Parliament), which runs into the French - speaking section of this party, has finally found the title. This is Korab Rashit. The announcement was made Tuesday in an official press release.
On Monday, the president of the Patrick Widmer section had stepped down as deputy for professional reasons. Before him was withdrawn for the same reason as police officer Luca Francescutto, first elected.

Pronounce for albinfo. ch, Corabi had stressed his expected dedication to the position of the Albanian community in his canton, in case of choice.
That's what he said.ch had developed with it, just before the elections, in March of this year.
“As far as my interest and concrete commitment is concerned about foreign communities and especially about the Albanian community in Switzerland, my priorities are many: I have long been debating the creation of a Parliamentary Group for Kosovo (GPK). I think this Parliamentary Group would lobby for stronger institutional ties between Switzerland and Kosovo. Another priority is my approach, co-operation and twinning between the municipality of Bern and Pristina. I will also work to make this twinning happen to other municipalities in Bern and Kosovo Canton.
I think the organisation of the Albanian school in Bernton should go through the relevant cantonal and municipal institutions, so I'm working hard on informing the opinion. I will be active in the press and Bern television for confirming real opportunities for greater cooperation among different communities, regardless of their origin. I will try with facts and arguments to introduce the highest traditional, cultural and sports values of the Albanian community, albinfo.ch.
Another priority of mine is to work as hard as possible on creating spaces in the media under Canton, and on the wider basis of the Albanian community; his ties with all the associations that operate within the canton with the aim of co-operation and exchange of experiences and cultural values among different peoples. I can say that the Albanian community will have a strong voice in defence and advancing its position within the framework of relevant institutions. Only by getting inside every institution, only by cooperating with each other, can we line up where we belong and still can any dezinforms be dismissed. This can't be done by staying away. This has been a strong motive for me to join this party”.
