She had met with Ukrainian President Olena Zelenska's wife, who had not been seen in public since the beginning of the war on February 24th.
Biden's visit to Ukraine's Mother's Day took place at school in this city, where he has become a refuge for homeless Ukrainians.
I wanted to come to my mother's day. We thought it was important to show the Ukrainian people that war should stop. And this war has been brutal. The people of the United States are with the people of Ukraine”, Jill Biden said before the media.
Zelensky has thanked Beden for the visit, saying her visit was a bold move.
Their meeting lasted for an hour and was closed to the media, CNN writes.
